A smile is contagious! It's a universal sign of happiness! It relieves stress!
We are quickly approaching the Spring and Summer months when smiling at a Graduation or a Wedding will catch the camera's eye. Be prepared, make it a big smile, make it gunuine, it will provide you and everyone around you with the warmth and love it was meant to produce.

Babies are born with the ability to smile, they start right away in their sleep :)
A smile can use from 5-53 facial muscles depending on the kind of smile :)
It takes more muscles to frown then to smile :(
A smile can be recognized from 300 feet away. It is the most easily recognized facial expression :)
Forcing yourself to smile can boost your mood :)
Smiling can improve your physical health and contribute to a strong immune system :)
Smiling is more attractive then wearing make-up according to 69% of people polled :)
Women smile more often then men :)

Now that you have the facts, Statler Orthodontics will be watching you! Remember....
You're never fully dressed without a smile :)

Statler Orthodontics/Pioneers in Revolutionary Technology

Statler Orthodontics pioneering on Revolutionary Technology to minimize extractions in children and Adult orthodontic treatments.

With the use of a TAD (Temporary Anchorage Device) we are able to treat patients using this relatively new technology to move teeth without using other teeth as leverage. We now place a simple TAD which is approximately the size of a small earring post, into the tissue/bone to be used as anchorage to move teeth comfortably, without the need to extract teeth in most cases. Instead of using other teeth as leverage we can use this small pin like device to allow us to push the necessary teeth back, correcting Class Two malocclusion, and creating space for severely crowded teeth with no room to erupt. In most cases it is used along side another appliance (distalizer or springs) to help us make our corrections.

Dr. Statler and her husband, Dr. David Prusakowski are Certified/skilled clinicians in the placement of Temporary Anchorage Devices. The TAD is simply placed in a couple of minutes, and easily removed when correction is accomplished. For the past 5 years we have been pioneers in this revolutionary technology, helping many of our patients to achieve near textbook orthodontic corrections. We are proud to always be on the cutting edge of technology in order to better serve our patients.

Below are just two of our many cases where TAD's were used to correct Class Two Malocclusion and Distalize (move back) the teeth to create space for permanent eruption of severely crowded teeth. Both cases were highly successful.

Statler Orthodontics/Working together with HealthSource Chiropractic Treating TMJD/Jaw Pain

Dr. Jennifer Statler is proud to be associated with, and work with Dr. Lee Smith and Dr. Noah Riegel of

Health Source
Chiropractic, Progressive Rehab and Wellness

Health Source is committed to providing their/our patients lasting relief from a variety of health disorders. One of the many ailments they treat on a regular basis at their Boca Raton location is TMJD better known as jaw pain. They are passionate in this field, providing new innovative ways to treat jaw pain, surpassing the traditional surgical treatment route. If you are a candidate for this type of treatment, Dr. Statler will recommend you see them for an initial consultation and evaluation.

Many studies have shown the efficacy of co-managing the treatment of TMJD with both Chiropractic and oral care.

  • *  The Journal of Manipulative Physiological Therapy found that the position of the jaw, head, and neck are intricately linked. Acute symptoms experienced during the initial dental treatment phase were caused by the inability of the head and neck to adapt to maxillary and mandibular changes. Chiropractic treatments  enabled the body to respond positively to the dental changes. As the mandibular position improved, further improvements were indicated by physical testing and x-rays.

  • *  The American Association for Dental Research (AADR) recommends that a diagnosis of TMJD receive a clinical examination of the head and neck.

  • *  The Journal of Applied Oral Science states the cervical spine disorders are perpetuating factors for TMJD.

  • *  The Journal of Oral Rehabilitation recommends examination of the cervical spine even without cervical complaints. These findings were supported by Cranio and Clinical Oral Investigation as well.

If you have any questions or concerns about your jaw pain or discomfort, please contact Dr. Jennifer Statler at (561) 368-3688 or go to our website at for more information.
