STATLER ORTHODONTICS/FOR YOUR CHILDS HEALTH, NUTRITION, AND WELL BEING

Statler Orthodontics is not only concerned with your outward appearance, but wants to make sure you reflect wellness on the inside as well. Statler Orthodontis and Juice Plus, together are dedicated to providing you with the best balance of beauty and nutrition.

Over and over, we would hear how Juice Plus+® initiated a broad ripple effect on people's health and well-being. Within just a few months of making Juice Plus+® part of their daily lives, both kids and adults would find themselves eating better, feeling better, and living better. In essence, Juice Plus+®was serving as a springboard to better health.
In 1999, we began to ask new Juice Plus+® parents to share with us in a more formal and quantifiable way what they experience in their own families as a result of beginning to take Juice Plus+®. As an incentive to participate, we offered free Juice Plus+® to the child participant.
The Children's Health Study has since proven what we knew to be true all along: Juice Plus+® makes a real difference in family health and nutrition.

What is the Children's Health Study?

Established in 1999, the international Children's Health Study is a large-scale, multi-year survey designed to formally document the positive effects Juice Plus+® has on the health and well-being of families who take it.
The study is based on three important concepts:
  1. Good nutrition is the foundation of health and inspires other healthy lifestyle choices.
  2. The best time to establish good health and nutritional habits is in childhood.
  3. The key to getting children to adopt good health habits is parental involvement.

How does it work?

The way the Children's Health Study works is simple. For every parent, grandparent, or other adult that signs up as a Juice Plus+® customer, the study provides Juice Plus+® Orchard Blend and Juice Plus+® Garden Blend free to a child, teenager, or college student for up to three years. At various intervals — after 4-8 months and then at the end of each year — adult participants are asked to fill out a voluntary survey to determine whether (and how) their families' health habits have changed as a result of taking Juice Plus+®.
The results of the first 150,000 families who have responded to our surveys are documented here — and the news is very, very good!

STATLER ORTHODONTICS TEEN INVISALIGN SUMMER STUDY

Dear Friends and Patients

Statler Orthodontics has great news! As a premiere provider which puts us in the top5% of Invisalign providers in the country, our office has been selected to conduct a study using Invisalign Teen – just in time for back-to-school!  If you or a friend are interested in treatment please contact the office to be a part of it – space is limited.

Invisalign Teen use a series of clear, almost invisible, removable aligners that combines Dr. Statler’s clinical treatment plan with proprietary 3-D, computer-generated software to make the unique, custom-made aligners.  Each aligner gradually moves your teeth in very precise increments as prescribed.  The Invisalign Teen aligner is specially designed to address key issues of compliance, eruption control, and root torque.  If you’re not familiar with any of these terms, I’d be happy to talk to you about them and their importance for teen orthodontic treatment.

Over the past 14 years I have been practicing dentistry, I have seen tremendous changes in the design, shape, size and color of traditional braces.  Fortunately for patients today, braces are smaller, more esthetic and often work more efficiently to help the Orthodontist achieve a healthy, beautiful  smile in less time. Thanks to on-going research in orthodontics, a variety of these orthodontic “appliances” are available today.  However, with all the new developments in appliances, I am most excited about Invisalign and Invisalign Teen! As a tooth moving tool (like braces), Invisalign can be the best choice for you and your family.

So why choose Invisalign Teen over braces?

Invisalign, like braces, is just a tool to help us Orthodontists move teeth. The square metal braces bonded to a patient’s teeth will not magically move those teeth into a beautiful smile without a proper diagnosis and treatment plan in place that has been set by an Orthodontic Specialist.  Likewise, clear removable aligners (like Invisalign) will not magically move teeth without the experience of an Orthodontist who has expertise in that appliance. With our practice, you are a candidate for Invisalign!

Patients who wear Invisalign will have certain advantages over traditional braces:
-          You will be able to brush and floss without dealing with the braces and wires
-          No dietary restrictions because you can take them out when you eat
-          You will have minimal discomfort compared to the roughness of braces and the wires that potentially stick your cheeks and tongue
-          They fit the lifestyle of today’s active teen – sports, band, & extracurricular activities
-          Finally, they are virtually invisible, which is great for teens….and adults too!

Again, if you would like to be a part of this Invisalign Teen Study please contact the office and set up a FREE consult.

Statler Orthodontics/ALWAYS ON THE CUTTING EDGE

Dr. Statler can give you that SMILE in almost HALF THE TIME!

We live in a day and age where saving time is important to us. Getting things done faster and more efficiently is the name of the game!
Statler Orthodontics is proud to announce that:
WE CAN GIVE YOU THAT SMILE IN CLOSE TO HALF THE NORMAL TREATMENT TIME!

Many orthodontists are acheiving accelerated treatments for their patients with OrthoAccel's
AcceleDent devise. A micro-pulse technology system that has orthodontists and patients giving two thumbs up!
By gently biting onto a hands free, dental arch shaped wafer for only 20 minutes a day you can significantly reduce the amount of time you are in braces or Invisalign. The micro pulse action stimulates blood flow to the tissue, allowing the tiny ligaments around the teeth to loosen, and in turn allowing the teeth to move more freely at an accelerated rate.
Statler Orthodontics will offer you this simple, cost effective treatment at each consultation, whether you are having traditional treatment or Invisalign. Come in now for your free consultation, and see how you can achieve the smile you've always wanted in almost HALF the time!

STATLER ORTHODONTICS-Always on the Cutting Edge!

Our mission at Statler Orthodontics is to serve our patients with the best possible care.
We are always on the cutting edge, using the newest technologies to better serve our patients.

Dr. Statler has been categorized by Align Technologies as an PREMIER INVISALIGN PROVIDER!
Her skills and expertise with Invisalign treatment along with her numerous past and current Invisalign patients have made it possible for her to have a personal technician to better serve your treatment planning. Our office encourages you to come in for a complimentary consultation to see if you are a candidate for invisible braces! Call today to come in at a time that is convenient for you.

We use top of the line american made brackets in our office. Self ligating brackets are the modern choice in today's orthodontics. They are computer designed to make your treatment more comfortable, save time, and give you the result you want and deserve!
Dr. Statler is one of a smaller group of orthodontists who use INDIRECT BONDING to seat/place your braces. It's a time consuming process for the doctor after hours, that Dr. Statler prefers to practice in order to better serve your orthodontic needs. Indirect bonding allows for a more precise placement of the brackets, done by the doctor herself. This process is significantly superior to the most common direct bonding placement. Because of it's accurate placement, treatment time is significantly shortened, and the in office placement is less time consuming and more comfortable for our patients.

We look forward to your call to make an appointment for your complimentary consultation. Using the most current technologies to serve your orthodontic needs will enhance your overall experience here at Statler Orthodontics.

Is the Orthodontist a Dentist? Is the Dentist an Orthodontist?

Did you know that your orthodontist became a dentist prior to
Being an orthodontist?
After receiving their degree in general dentistry some dentists
begin their practice in that field. Some further their education
to specialize in the field of their passion.
Dr. Statler went to school to become a general dentist, and practiced
Dentistry in the military for 6.5 years. She was a commander over
50 dentists in her assigned unit. Her passion for orthodontics took
her back to school  to further her knowledge/education  to be able to diagnose
and treat as an orthodontic specialist.
When you go to your general dentist, they specialize in general dentistry.
When you are interested or need any other aspect of dental specialization,
you should ask your general dentist or the people around you who they trust
to take care of your special need such as Orthodontics.

The team at Statler Orthodontics support the many general dentists in our community and their wonderful efforts. As an important member of your dental team, we are here to serve you in any way we can.

ADULT ORTHODONTICS ON THE RISE

Orthodontists are seeing more and more reasons for the growing acceptance of braces among adults.
Braces can be more affordable because insurance coverage for orthodontic work is on the rise. Technology has advanced us to an orthodontic world where braces are more comfortable and amazingly discrete. Treatment times are shorter and fewer office visits are needed.

THERE IS NOW AN EVER-INCREASING PRESSURE TO LOOK ONE'S BEST

Whether we like it or not, we are often judged by our appearance. Many adults are concerned about how their smile might affect their chances for employment or advancement in an ever increasing competitive job market. Many adults are reentering the dating scene and are looking for a more attractive, youthful appearance.
Keeping a youthful appearance and having a healthy oral environment, makes the demand for adult braces contagious!
Just as bone density decreases with age throughout our bodies, the bones in our mouths lose density and shift with age. Teeth also shift due to wear and changing pressures in the mouth. Adults who wore braces as children sometimes need to return for orthodontic treatment in midlife or later, especially if they aren't diligent about wearing their retainers and their teeth shift out of alignment.

At Statler Orthodontics you are given several options to treat your adult orthodontic needs. Dr. Statler is always educated on the latest technological advances in the orthodontic field, to be able to best serve you with customized treatment planning for your specific needs.
Unlike the days when braces were 'tightened down' with stiff wires, today's braces use a more flexible, lighter weight wires. These wires are custom-designed to fit the mouth of each patient and they have shape memory so they don't require frequent adjustments. This allows for longer time between appointments and doesn't impact our work schedule or social lives very much at all. We also offer Invisalign treatment to many of our adult patients who are candidates for these amazing invisible braces.

Come in to Dr. Jennifer Statler for your FREE adult orthodontic consultation. The benefits can and will affect the health of your teeth for a lifetime.

TAKING EXTRA PRECAUTIONS DURING COLD AND FLU SEASON

DO GERMS REALLY LIVE ON MY TOOTHBRUSH???

The dreaded cold and flu season is here again! After recovering from your cold, one of the most important steps you can take to avoid becoming reinfected is replacing your toothbrush!
Germs can linger on the bristles, and you risk prolonging your sickness by continuing to use the same toothbrush. Be smart – keep a spare, just in case! To protect your toothbrush from bacteria all year long, consider the following tips:
• Wash your hands before and after brushing
• Allow the brush to air dry after each use, harmful bacteria dies after being exposed to oxygen
• Store the toothbrush in an upright position to allow water to drain and dry faster
• Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months. Worn bristles are less effective in properly cleaning your teeth, and can actually be damaging to teeth if used too long!
We hope these tips help! Feel free to give us a call or ask us on Facebook
