Statler Orthodontics Supports 'Making Strides'

Each of us know someone or have ourselves heard the doctor say the words 'YOU HAVE BREAST CANCER' It's devastating to everyone!
Participating in the 'Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk' will be a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite our community to honor breast cancer survivors, and raise awareness about things that we ourselves can do to reduce our risk of getting this despicable disease!
The event helps raise money to aid the American Cancer Society to fight the disease with breast cancer research, information and services, and helps access mammograms for women who need them.

The Journey to end breast cancer starts with a single step! Join the Statler Orthodontic Team in the upcoming local event :    Mizner Park Amphitheater

There is NO substitute for keeping an eye on your children's teeth!

Cavities are on the rise again in young children, after decades of decreasing!
Wouldn't you be happy to keep your teeth as healthy as they can be forever? Technology in dentistry has evolved over several years to provide the products, practices, and services that now can make this happen.
Standard recommendations are still the best ones :
                    1. Brush after meals.
                    2. Floss once a day
                    3.Don't consume too much sugar.
                    4. See your dentist for cleanings twice a year. (more if you can afford it)
For some reason, not all of us follow these recommendations.. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, reported that in the United States, the first increase in 40 years in the number of preschoolers who have cavities, is making tooth decay the most pervasive chronic disease among children.
Cavities in baby teeth can cause premature loss, setting the stage for struggles for permanent teeth to erupt properly.
In young children sugary drinks, soda, and sticky candy are major contributors to the problem. The solution?
Limit the intake of these products to maintain healthy teeth and overall good health. Use products like MI paste to replenish minerals that are taken away from the sugary acids we consume. Using fluoride rinses, electric toothbrushes, and dental sealants are all great ways to help prevent tooth decay in our children (or anyone else for that matter). But the most important thing you can do as a parent, is to 'keep an eye on your child's teeth'
Statler Orthodontics provides a free Oral Hygiene program once a month to provide children in our community with the necessary educating tools to create good habits at a young age. We teach them what foods are good, and what ones are not so good. We educate them on good brushing skills, and send them home with a bag of tools to help get them started. If you are interested in coming to one of our programs, please call the office at (561) 368-3688. You do not need to be a regular patient, we welcome anyone! We also provide these programs for your community groups, schools, and more.
